Question-what items are sellable

April 17th, 2014 at 01:10 pm

Hi guys

Knee deep in my house clean out etc.. So I do not wnat to donate to Goodwill what I can sell

What items are sellable on Craigs list or Ebay (never used ebay.. is it hard)

1. books?
2. those sauder shelves
3. purses? clothes?
4. lawn stuff (leaf blower etc)
5. pictures
6. artificial flower arrangements
7. vacuums

I do not want to have a garage sales per se.. there is a 'New uses' store here that buys things (not big $ and they do not buy books and some things) but trying to clean up

Also heard folks buy things at garage sales or get them used and sell on ebay or Craigs List.. any money makers there.

Thanks guys

Trying to figure guidelines for throw out, donate and sell to New Uses, or on Craigs list/ebay

Smile

I'd say clothes generally aren't worth reselling unless they are vintage, and flower arrangements probably won't go for much. Might be good to donate those two. Any books you want to sell, you can check how much they are selling for used on Amazon. I've sold used books on Amazon and it's worked out just fine.

I would try to sell items on a local website like kijiji and would avoid ebay. I don't know about Craig's list. If you have close that are designer labels and less that a few years old then try a consignment shop. Call a local used bookstore to see if they are interested. If you have high ticket purses they will sell online and at consignment shops. Anything that people need will sell - vacuum and leaf blower. Good luck!

The vacuum and leaf blower will easily sell on Craigslist if priced right. Used books are pennies on the dollar at used book stores, but if somewhat current, Half.com is a great place, as is Amazon.com.

I agree with others on the clothes, unless it is baby/young children's clothes...those do sell if in good condition. I'd donate nearly all of what you mentioned UNLESS you are having a garage sale, where you can put it out all at once. Otherwise to much work to sell in any other way.
